King Jesus

We were made to worship the King, which perhaps explains people’s fascination with the pageantry of royalty. When kings and queens go on parade, the world stops to watch their regal procession as it grandly passes by. Oh, to have been in Jerusalem on the day when the King of all kings rode into the holy city of God, with everyone shouting His praises. However, Jesus was not coming to Jerusalem for His coronation; He was coming to the city to die. Yet, in this text, God gave a glimpse of the crown by showing what kingly honor Jesus deserved. His royal entrance into Jerusalem was a momentary triumph before an impending death.
