The Light at the End of the Cross

May 18, 2025    Dan Preston

It was the brightest time of day. The sun was striving to reach its peak–the high and shining point of the day. Meanwhile, the Son of God was giving the bright hope of eternal life to a dying thief and to every dying sinner. Then the darkness descended. This was the day a black curtain fell, shrouding the cross in thick darkness. As we look at three miracles this morning, we also hear the voice of Jesus from the cross—which may not be a miracle, but is an indisputable marvel: the voice of the God-forsaken Son, praying in the darkness and trusting the Father.
