Why Seek Ye the Living Among the Dead?
The Gospel is the Good News about Jesus Christ: His life, His death, and His resurrection. The Gospel promises that if we believe on Jesus Christ, all our sins will be forgiven, and we will live with God forever. This Good News centers on the person and the work of Jesus Christ. We see this very clearly in the Gospel of Luke, which is all about Jesus from beginning to end. Here we find Jesus’ noticeable absence. It is now the third day since He was crucified, died, and was buried—the day He said that He would rise from the dead—and Christ had risen. To understand why Jesus seems to be missing, we need to see what the women found when they went to the empty tomb, what the angel said to them there, and how people responded: whether in faith or unbelief.
