A Three-Fold Warning for the End Times

In our text this morning, we see how Jesus forecasts the future for us and, unlike some weathermen, you can be sure His forecast is accurate. The point here is that nothing is certain. Things change and things fall apart in this world. The disciples probably thought to themselves that there are a lot of uncertainties in this life but one thing is certain and that is this temple isn’t going anywhere. The only thing that is sure is the eternal God and His eternal Word. The disciples had a two part question. They wanted to know when will all this take place (referring to the destruction of the temple) and will there be any sign ahead of time? The Lord’s reply comprises what is known as the “Olivet Discourse,” which is the greatest sermon on prophecy ever preached.
