Compelled to Choose

Every day, we’re faced with thousands of decisions—some routine and seemingly insignificant, others life-altering. Whether we realize it or not, each choice we make shapes the direction of our lives. Jesus understood the weight of these decisions, especially the spiritual ones, and in the Sermon on the Mount, He presents a powerful call to choose the path that leads to life. Through vivid imagery—two gates, two roads, two outcomes—Jesus compels us to reflect deeply on the direction of our lives and the foundation of our faith. In our text tonight, He doesn’t just suggest a better way; He declares that there is only one true way, and that way is through Him. From this powerful teaching, we can draw three important truths that still apply to us today.
