Cold or Hot, But Not Lukewarm

The church of Laodicea is characterized as a lukewarm church. In their minds, they were self-sufficient and in need of nothing, yet the Lord threatened to spew them out.

God is not at all pleased with our self-sufficiency. Jesus Christ Himself admonishes the lukewarm to “be zealous therefore, and repent,” because the all-sufficient Saviour is all any of us will ever need.
