Complete Relationships (Part 2)

The principle in our passage this evening that is crucial for us to understand as we endeavor to have Christ-honoring relationships in this world is that Godly character leads to Godly relationships. We as Christians can’t go to work on Monday and leave our Christianity in the pew. It matters how we serve and it matters how we lead. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:12-23) This passage is going to show us how our developing our character to please the Lord will lead to relationships that please the Lord. Maybe you’re an employee, a student, in the military, or find yourself in a situation where you are under someone else’s authority; Paul is going to show us how to conduct ourselves. Maybe you find yourself leading employees, teaching, or in some other position of authority; Paul is going to address how you are to conduct yourself in a way that honors the Lord.
