The Captain of Our Salvation

When we consider the greatness of God—His power in creation, His glory displayed in the heavens, His command over the stars—it’s hard not to wonder, “Why would a God so vast care about someone like me?” Yet Scripture assures us that He does. The writer of Hebrews takes this truth even further, showing that the God who crafted galaxies also stepped into our world through His Son, Jesus Christ. In this passage, we see that Jesus didn’t simply visit humanity—He came with purpose. In our text this morning, we will see four key reasons why Christ left heaven’s splendor, took on our humanity, and entered into our suffering.
