Our Testimony
From West Texas to Oklahoma to Maine, and now to Czechia, the Lord has guided our journey. My name is Jaron McFarland, and I grew up at Bethany Baptist Church, where I was saved by the Lord Jesus Christ, and later He called me to preach. I attended Heartland in Oklahoma City, where I met my wonderful wife, Kimberly.
We then answered His call to be involved in church planting in the state of Maine. We moved to Maine in 2012 after graduation and served in various capacities. In 2017, the Lord allowed us to begin the process of planting a church in western Maine. In 2020, we merged with an existing church that needed a pastor, and as we focused on the preaching of God’s Word, He blessed with growth.
The Lord began working in our hearts in 2024 with a desire to go to Czechia. After much prayer, fasting, and seeking wise counsel, we felt that the only thing left to do was obey. We then took time to pray about it as a church, and they too felt peace about sending their pastor and his family to share the gospel in Czechia. As we began making that transition, the Lord blessed us with the opportunity to ordain a faithful man in the church who desires the office of a bishop to oversee the work. His family is a true blessing and continues to be dear friends in this gospel endeavor.
We are blessed to have Bethany Baptist Church of Lubbock as our sending church. It is where I grew up, and they faithfully stayed with us in prayer and support throughout our time in Maine. They were a tremendous help to our family and to the ministry of the gospel there. We are so thankful for God’s love and faithfulness to us, and we cannot wait to share that same God with the people of Czechia.
The Lord has blessed Kim and me with seven children: Gwyn, Owen, Mehlin, Sullivan, Caralyn, Norman, and Lillian. We love ministering, singing, and serving together as a family in whatever capacity the Lord allows.
